Augsburg Park in Richfield, MN is sort of a classic park, featuring rolling hills of manicured grass and oaks with a forked path between the north and south edges of the block. The east end of the park features a public library (closed for construction) and a small community center in the northeast corner. There is an ever-busy “Adventure Park” playground with a sort of artificial “nature” theme, but it does have reasonably accessible play equipment at least. There’s even a small section of colorful statues that are vaguely appropriate for toddlers to climb on. A redeeming feature of this park is found down the hill from the central path, where a grassy mowed path creates a beautiful sort of loop along the lake before rejoining the pavement. Overall, it’s a fine park for a shady picnic and a short walk for a toddler. I recommend parking in the south lot.
