Hansen Park – New Brighton, MN

Hansen Park in New Brighton, MN has seen many changes since we visited as children.  Follow a sunny trail north from the playground where it circles the west side of a marsh.  A filtration system on the north end of the marsh cleans catches and cleans outflowing water before it moves downstream.  A dirt trail continues through the trees, circling down the east end of the marsh next to neighborhood houses.  The trail rejoins the developed park space south of the marsh.   The southern end of Hansen park features an expanse of rolling greens featuring a disc golf course and additional trails winding through woods and along a shallow babbling brook.  In this park system you are very likely to see herons, egrets, ducks, geese, and even neighboring chickens.
