Lake Hiawatha – Minneapolis, MN

Lake Hiawatha Park (Minneapolis) has swaths of green grass and picnic tables with shady trees between the 28th Ave sidewalk and a bike path.  A winding walking path takes you near the edge of Lake Hiawatha, circling from a wading pool & playground structures on the north end, past the little sandy beach, and around to a bridge over Minnehaha Creek where it feeds back out of the lake.  The walking path does not circle the full lake—the west end of Lake Hiawatha was developed into a golf course, and with the artificial dredged shoreline experiencing continual erosion and flooding, it seems unlikely that a full walking path might ever be added.
