Minnehaha Regional Park is an iconic destination in Minneapolis, MN. It’s famous for its natural waterfall, but I strongly recommend a walk down the path following the creek east to the Mississippi River. While long stairways and floodplain paths may make parts of this trail impassable in the summer or winter, dry terrain in the fall makes for a gorgeous walk enjoying the autumn foliage. *Be advised* that while much of the lower pathway is flat, dry, and level, most of the access to it is through long and winding stairways and some of the upper pathways along the north side overlooking the creek have quite steep drop-offs that should be avoided for young children (and I wouldn’t care to baby-carry through those sections, either).
If you haven’t had enough park, you can follow the river north along the tree-covered paths overlooking the Mississippi or visit the Longfellow Garden and native Pergola Garden. These are also very stroller-friendly options.
