Rosland Park – Edina, MN

Rosland Park in Edina, MN is set between Lake Cornelia and MN-62.  The nature trail through the marshy woodland features a fair amount of detritus, roots, logs, and an especially wonky bridge with large steps.  The paths there can often be narrow, though the brave may dare a single-wide jogging stroller if it’s especially sturdy.  A broader, more exposed, and more upkept paved path cuts through Lake Cornelia and circles around the north lobe past the Edina Aquatic Center and the brightly colored (but very accessible) play gym, where you can find pretty convenient parking.

While the nature trail feels more secluded and wild (perhaps due to the encroachment of thick invasive buckthorn), the broader park features lots of large oaks and there’s no shortage of picnic shade on a summer day.  We spotted a conspicuous patch of Chinese silver grass along the north end of the lake, but it’s unclear if the invasive ornamental spread to the area from nearby properties or if it was planted intentionally.
