Lake Smetana is tucked in next to Highways 5/494 and 212, just 5 minutes from Eden Prairie Center. This lake features a small hilltop playground with spring bouncers and a high swing, but I favor it for the lovely wooden lookout and a sheltered picnic pavilion. The walking path around the lake will bring you to the corner of Viking Drive and Prairie Center Drive before winding back down behind office buildings and back through a small wood, so it’s not the most perfect walking loop, but it’s a lovely space to take a toddler down to look for ducks and turtles and pick up sticks.
